John Hanna to the Board. He was appointed from the Boadicca on the Irish station to the Canopus in October 1806 and proceeded to England to join the ship by order of Admiral Lord Gardiner. He arrived at Plymouth in November 1806 and found the ship had sailed for the Mediterranean. Admiral Young directed him to Portsmouth to get a passage which he did in the Redwing Sloop and arrived in Malta in April 1807. He was ordered to Madras to the Grasshopper and joined the Canopus in Alexandria in May 1807. He asks to be paid as Carpenter of a 5th Rate from the time he was superseded until he joined the Canopus.
