Description
Petitioners
Michael Dalamaigne of the parish of St Blazey in the lordship of Towington.
Name(s)
Dalamaigne, Michael
Addressees
Chancellor of the prince and his other commissioners.
Nature of request
Dalamaigne states that he took at farm all the messuages, lands [...] that Bodrugan had in the vill of Carvear within his manor of Tregreharn with a mill and all appurtenances, to hold the same to him and his heirs of his body lawfully begotten during their lives, yielding to Bodrugan and his heirs 5 marks 14d. at the four usual terms of the year as appears in his indenture which he is ready to show. In the two previous years Bodrugan has distrained the petitioner to pay more wrongfully, and is now maliciously threatening to put the petitioner from the messuage and land saying that they are forfeit. Dalamaigne is of no power to sue against a knight and requests that Bodrugan, while he be present, be called before the chancellor and commissioners and examined in the premises and the truth [...] being thoroughly understood, set such a direction therein as they think best so that the petitioners and his heirs may enjoy the farm and mill [...] and Bodrugan be caused to repay the excess sum.
Nature of endorsement
Bodrugan says of the matters complained of in the bill that he is not guilty.
