[The petition is badly damaged, with large portions of the petition missing and much of the remainder illegible. The petition refers to the castle and lordship of Whittington and to forests and woods appurtenant to it. Frequent reference is made to the earl of Arundel, and to the involvement of large numbers of men and the taking of timber].
