The Mayor and barons of Rye ask the Chancellor to accept their nomination of Thomas Brygge, clerk, to be warden of the Hospital of St Bartholomew at Rye, which they make at the King's request, even though the wardens of the hospital should be, and customarily have been, chaplains, and ask him to present that nomination to the Bishop of Chichester.
