Pycard (Picard), John

Chancellor.
Nature of request
John Pycard states that because John de Paunton was a lunatic, his lands were given to his son by letters patent to keep them without waste and to support his father; but he did not support his father, and wasted the lands, leasing part of them in mortgage to Griffin de Fordon. The King therefore repealed the letters patent, and gave the lands to John Pycard, who had married John de Paunton's daughter, to support him; but Griffin is forcibly refusing to relinquish the lands mortgaged to him. He requests a writ to Griffin to appear at the quinzaine of Easter to answer to the King and to John for his rebellion, and to John de Paunton the son to answer to the King for his waste and destruction in the lands.
