[This petition is badly damaged]The petitioners state that a loan was made to the Henry V by the late Archbishop, the Bishop, Walter Goddard, Thomas Stibbard and John Parsons, and also the Prior and convent of Durham on 22 July in the third year of his reign, and that they were given, as security for this loan, a gold tabernacle formerly belonging to the late Duke of Lancaster. They have since been repaid part of their loans, but only part, and [the manuscript is defective at this point], seem to be requesting authority to dispose of the tabernacle to recoup their money.
