The petitioners state that many peasants and neifs lately rose in conflict with their lords (intending to have their freedom) when good remedy was made in parliament, by which many peasants and neifs of the land in various counties have decided to cross the sea with the bishop of Norwich to be free of their lords. The petitioners seek an order such that the lords have the power to delay and obstruct their peasants and neifs from the voyage in accordance with the law of the land etc., notwithstanding the bull granted by the pope to the said bishop.
