Crime and prison discipline: forwarding letter from William Hepburn Rennie, lieutenant governor of St Vincent, 19 February 1874 enclosing a printed copy of 'criminal statistics' for the annual blue book giving total numbers of offences reported to the police or the magistrates during 1873; numbers of persons brought before the magistrates' courts and whether convicted, referred to superior courts, or case dismissed; number of summary convictions; and number of indictments and informations in the superior courts, together with a report by the attorney general. Also enclosing a printed report on 'gaols and prisoners', with a report by the provost marshal.
