Recommendation of the Court of King's Bench issued on receiving the report of Duncan Campbell overseer of the convicts confined on the Justitia hulk on the River Thames, concerning John Simmons, ordered to the hulks on 7 March 1783. Grounds for clemency: suffered a long confinement and behaved well while on the hulk. Initial sentence: 7 years transportation. Recommendation: mercy, discharge, and the prisoner to be given decent clothing at the time of his discharge.
