Recommendation of the Court of King's Bench issued on receiving the report of Duncan Campbell overseer of the convicts confined on the Justitia hulk on the River Thames, concerning George Ward, convicted at York, on 2 August 1783. Grounds for clemency: behaved well and while on the hulk and has friends who have offered to become security for his future good behaviour. Initial sentence: 5 years. Recommendation: mercy, discharge upon entering into sureties and the prisoner to be given decent clothing at the time of his discharge.
