Folio 290: Stormont to Weymouth. Coudray has gone to La Rochelle with 5 engineers to embark for America. Some help for them arranged by Beaumarchais has been delayed. He hears that Maurepas will not be entrapped by Aranda and hopes that this is true. While pretending that France's secret manoeuvres are undiscovered, Britain must prepare for the worst.
