Folio 9: Bedford to Albemarle. Enclosing dispatches from Grenville. Tobago has been evacuated but Caylus has behaved very differently over the other three islands. The Nevis incident is not cleared up but it cannot in any case justify Caylus' conduct. Holbourne has been misinformed about the arrival of the Galathea. Caylus has probably received orders and is prevaricating. Albemarle is to insist on fresh orders being sent. He sends extracts of reports about St. Lucia, H.M.S. Tavistock and a copy of a letter from Colvill to Holbourne. The King has reached Helvoet [Helvoetluis]. The Lords Justices have opened their commission. Bedford denies giving Mirepoix a copy of the Russian note to Sweden. Date and place: 1750 Apr 23/May 4 Whitehall
