Description

Folio 113: Carteret to Wich. Continue to cultivate the friendship of the two Bestuzev's. Happily Ungern elected in Sweden and no doubt we will soon have influence there which HM will enjoy promoting Czarina's service and reconciling her with Sweden. HM would beglad to know feelings towards peace of the Russian ministers. As HM is in friendly union with Prussian King, he wishes you to live in harmony with Mardefeld and desires you to join him in making a requisition of the Czarina's accession to treaty signed 28 July 1742 at Berlin between King of Prussia and Queen of Hungary under mediation of HM Dated Whitehall, 10 Sept 1742.
