Folio 134: Walpole to Rondeau. HM sends you resolution of States General given to Count Golovkin at the Hague, so that you are informed as well of the good arrangements which appeared at the Porte for ending war with Russia. HM waiting to hear what has passed about the conference with the Grand Vizir. HM would be glad to see peace restored between Turks and Russia, but has no other view in this affair than as a common friend or, if required, as an instrument in a reconciliation. Dated Hanover, 29 July 1736.
