Description

Folio 125: Whitworth to Harley. Reports of progress of the king of Sweden and King Stanislas to the border near Steinau. Czar may move the court if the Swedish advance on Warsaw continues. Retreat of the Polish Crown army. Departure of the deputies of the Hungarianmalcontents: their interest in the election of the new Polish king, and attempt to ally with the Czar and with the Republic, and agree to the election of Prince R kóczy on condition he remains head of the Hungarian confederates. Exchange of Swedish and Muscovite prisoners under way. Dated Moscow, 1/12 Oct 1707.
