Folio 119: Whitworth to Harley. Letter received from Shapfiroff the dispute with the Tobacco Company. Russian ambassador in England has informed the Czar of his reception there, and his inability to obtain a resolution on his business; interpretation the Russians have put upon this. Shapfiroff explains the communication between the Czar and the Palatine of Beltz, denying that she was commissioned by the Czar to negotiate peace. Intrigues of the Palatine. Conflicting reports of Swedish movements: should they not move suddenly Czar resolved to go to Lublin to press for a new election. Confiscation of post by Prince Wiesnowieski. Dated Moscow, 14 Aug/3 Sept 1707.
