Description

York in Virginia. Cornwallis to Washington. Agrees to negotiate on basis laid down in letter at PRO 30/11/74/124, but expects compensation for Gloucester; wants sloop Bonnetta to send dispatches; desires traders and inhabitants may retain their property,and nobody be punished for joining the British troops; is prepared to appoint two field officers to discuss articles of capitulation.
