Folio 182: Whitworth to Stanhope. Audience with the King of Prussia. Kniphausen tells Whitworth the king will renew the treaty on certain conditions; the new clauses could be presented to King George on Whitworth's return to Hanover. King of Prussia talks freely; Whitworth will give a full account on his return to Hanover. Maash, the Prussian emissary at Stockholm, received his despatches from the Prince of Hesse and was obliged by the senate to withdraw. On his return to Lübeck he was taken by a Russian ship.
