Subject: Conspiracy between John Edwards, being then sheriff, and the other defendants to prevent William Almer from being elected MP as knight of the shire in the 1588 Parliament. The county court was held in a private house instead of at the shire hall at Wrexham, and John Edwards was returned as MP, though he had fewer supporters than Almer.
