Description

Letter by John Pickarde, vicar of Leighton Bromswold [Huntingdonshire] to Mr. Coungarton at Northampton asking for the payment of his rent at the half-day despite Coungarton's earlier statement that he would only hand rent to John's brother John Atkyndes. Letter by John Pickarde to Robert Coungletton, gentleman, at Brockhall [Northamptonshire], stating that he cannot attend the visitation, and asking Robert to instruct Mr. Mottersey, John's proctor, to speak there on John's behalf. Letter by John Pickard, vicar of Leighton Bromswold [Huntingdonshire], to Mr. Robert Cowngarton complaining about a false rumour concerning the responsibility for John's difficulties at the Exchequer, referring to a conversation with Hales, a 'promoter'. John also asks for payment of his rent, and an advance of 40s. on next year's half-rent, to meet costs of a payment to Langarett the promoter, and his charges in the Exchequer. Seal attached.

Letter by John Pickard, parson of Brockhall [Northamptonshire], to Mr. Robert Coungerton complaining about false accusations made against John and about Robert's refusal to pay 40s. [?rent]; referring also to the 'counter payne' sent by Robert to John, and to 'Langaret the promoter'. Letter by John Pickarde to Mr. Robert Coungletton asking for his half-year rent. Letter by John Pickarde to Mr. Robert Coungletton, gentleman, asking for his half-year rent to be delivered to William Pecoke the writer's brother, with seal attached.
