Description

Enclosure award and map of Obley (township in the parish of Clunbury), Shropshire. Also includes Black Hill and Lower Hill. Map on two sheets. Map A covers the enclosed area only (937 acres) and shows the land after enclosure. Also shows named lakes or ponds, well, named commons, named gates, footpaths or bridleways, named buildings, quarry, township boundary, field boundary ownership, some named landowners, relief (shown by hachures). With border. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. Construction lines shown. By Samuel Cartwright for Mickleburgh and Son, 1 September 1850. Map certified for accuracy, 10 August 1854. Map B covers the enclosed area and some other land (825 acres) and shows the land after enclosure. Also shows lakes or ponds, woods, named gates, named buildings, parish boundary, lands claiming common right. With border. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. By Charles Mickleburgh, Montgomery, 1849.
