Plaintiff(s): Henry Vernon.
Defendant(s): William Hawkes.
Subject of depositions: Manors or lordships of Hilton and Essington (Staffordshire), of which Sir Edward Vernon (plaintiff's grandfather), and after him Henry Vernon (plaintiff's father), were lords. Touching a chief rent claimed by plaintiff of defendant as due to the manors for land at the Heath, in Wednesfield (formerly belonging to one Dovey, whose heir and daughter is said to have been married by Sir Edward). Metes and bounds. [Walter Lane (defendant's uncle) and Richard Hawkes (defendant's grandfather), are mentioned].
County/place: Staffordshire.
Date of commission: 13 February 1688.
