Description

Short title: Attorney General v Spicer.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Robert Sawyer, kt (Attorney General), as well on behalf of his Majesty as by the relation of William Sandford and William Glyde.

Defendant(s): Hugh Spicer, Margaret Rowe.

Subject of depositions: Port or harbour of Topsham, the "barr and poynt of Exmouth" a place called "Starr Cross ", "places, roads, or creeks" called Dawlish and Tingmouth, and the manor of Kenton. Metes and bounds. Harbour tolls, fees, and dues. Customs of manor, etc. Touching the "right or privilege of the tenants or copyholders of the manor of Kenton to dig, take, or gather ballast" within the port of Topsham.

County/place: Devon.

Date of commission: 12 February 1686.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 14 April 1686 at Exeter.
