Description

Short title: Austen v Lord Colepeper.

Plaintiff(s): Sir John Austen, bart.

Defendant(s): The Rt Hon Thomas Lord Colepeper.

Subject of depositions: Fresh and salt marshes in the parishes of Lydd and Promebill alias Bromehill (Kent and Sussex), called "Washpitts" alias "Wastpitts ", "Stoneridge ", "Kiddle grounds ", "William Fynch's Salts "and "the prior of Christchurch Salts" and the defendant's Colepeper's marshes or grounds called Bromehill Salts or "the New Innings" or "the Lord Colepeper's salts" and the land of Sir George Curtis. Touching a fee-farm rent of £122 4s issuing out of the aforesaid lands lately payable to the late Queen Henrietta Maria, mother of His Majesty that now is, or unto His Majesty, and now or late unto Sir John Banks, bart Neglect of repairs of sea banks; expenses.
