Short title: Napier v Marquis of Winchester.
Plaintiff(s): Sir Nathaniel Napier, kt and bart.
Defendant(s): The Most Hon. Charles Lord Marquesse of Winchester, Francis Lord Paulett, and John Hurding.
Subject of depositions: Manors of Howood and Turnehill (Southampton), the manors of Whaddon (in the possession of plaintiff Sir Nathaniel), a farm or lands called Ashley (in possession of defendant Hurding), all of which are said to be parcel of the late abbey of Lettley (Southampton). Touching the fee-farm rents reserved and payable to the Crown for such premises. Value of manor. [John late Lord Marquesse of Winchester, deceased, a lease of Whaddon made by Sir William Paulett, kt, Earl of Wilts and Marquesse of Winchester, unto William Lambert alias Paulett, and a Patent granted by Henry VIII. unto some of the ancestors of the present Lord Marquesse of Winchester, of the priory of Lettley, with the lands, to the priory belonging, with a reservation in patent of £21 12s are mentioned].
