Description

Short title: Remington v Howson.

Plaintiff(s): Reginald Remington.

Defendant(s): Richard Howson, John Thornton, Gilbert Bateson, Giles Butterfield, Thomas Bateson, George Bateson, William Bateson, Jennet Bateson, Margaret Bateson.

Subject of depositions: Rectory and parish of Melling (Lancashire), and the manor of Hornby belonging to Thomas Lord Morley and Mounteagle, and formerly in the possession of Henry Lord Morley and Mounteagle. Touching tithes claimed by defendants, lands in Botton, and their alleged exemption from tithes on the ground that the lands were parcel of the cell of Hornby, and belonged to the abbot and convent of Croxton (Leicestershire). Metes and bounds. Tithes.

Date of commission: 23 June 1675.
