Description

Short title: Attorney General v Elton.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Heneage Finch, kt and bart (Attorney General), for and on the part and behalf of His Majesty.

Defendant(s): Richard Elton, Peter Brailsford.

Subject of depositions: James Pyford alias Garrett, late of Snowhill (Gloucestershire). Whether he was born at Calne (Wiltshire), and a bastard? Whether he purchased lands in Snowhill (Gloucestershire) ?. Pyford is said to have lived at Hurley (Berkshire) with Sir Richard Lovelace, kt, afterwards Lord Lovelace, Baron of Hurley, about fifty years ago.

County/place: Wiltshire; Gloucestershire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1670.
