Description

Short title: Attorney General v Savage.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Jeffrey Palmer, kt and bart (Attorney General).

Defendant(s): Richard Savage, Thomas Merry, John Harbin, Robert Harbin, Henry Woodley, Robert Angell, Lancelot Welsh.

Subject of depositions: Losses sustained by the inhabitants of Milton Abbas, caused by a fire which took place there "on the 4th August 1658." [See Number 3 of 19 & 20 Chas II Hilary, of this Calendar.] Touching sums of "money allotted (to the sufferers) by the trustees by His Matyes Letters Patent authorized" out of the money collected. Did John Tregonwell refuse to receive any of the money?.

County/place: Dorset.

Date of commission: 10 June 1668.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 15 October 1668 at Milton Abbas.
