Description

Short title: Attorney General v Hooke.

Plaintiff(s): Sir John Banks, kt (Attorney General).

Defendant(s): Humfrey Hooke, Walter Ellis, John Gouning, the younger, Francis Derrick, Thomas Cole, John Taylor, Andrew Charlton, Thomas Colston.

Subject of depositions: Letters of marque or mart [i.e. ships of war], which left Bristol between 1st December 1625 and 25 March 1635 (the time of the late war between England, France, and Spain). Payment of customs. Value of prizes taken.

County/place: Bristol; England; Spain; France.

Date of commission: 6 July 1636.
