Description

Short title: Tryon v Tuke.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Samuel Tryon, kt and bart James Searles.

Defendant(s): George Tuke.

Subject of depositions: Manor House and chief capital messuage of Layer Marney Hall, lately in the possession of Elizabeth Tuke, widow of Peter Tuke (defendant's mother), and late the inheritance and part of the possessions of defendant. Touching an alleged reservation in deed of bargain, and sale of the premises by defendant to plaintiff Tryon, in favour of plaintiff Searles. [Sir Thomas Gardiner, sometime farmer of the Manor House to the said Peter, is mentioned].

County/place: Essex.

Date of commission: 16 June 1624.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 1 October 1624 at Colchester.
