Description

Short title: Dymock v Welby.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Edward Dymock, kt, and Sir James Wootton, kt.

Defendant(s): Sir William Welby, kt, Thomas Williamson, Richard Hall, Thomas Ollye, Peter Ashton, Richard Baldwer, James Haryman, Thomas Sowter, William Stilton, John Marryott, William Farger, Thomas Ringe, Roger Williamson, John Johnson, Miles Barkwith.

Subject of depositions: Salt marshes in Holbeach, Tidd St Mary, Tidd St Giles, Sutton, and Gedney, and the manor of Gedney, anciently called "The Wentworth Fee" lately belonging to Sir Robert Carr, in the right of Cassandra his wife, and the manor of Sutton. Whether Sir W Welby is lord of one-third part of such marshes in right of Gedney Manor, the King of one-third in right of his manor of Abbotts, and the Queen of one-third part in right of her manor of Pawlett's Fee? Whether the marsh lands are ancient common or lands gained from the sea. [The possessions of Adlord Welby (defendant's father), are mentioned].
