Description

Short title: Purrey v Domble.

Plaintiff(s): James Purrey, merchant.

Defendant(s): Thomas Domble.

Subject of depositions: Ship called the Elizabeth, of Plymouth, (a privateer against the Spaniards). Whether identical with the Seacourse brought by plaintiff from St Mallowes, in France. What happened to the ship in the hands of CaptainsWilliam Pearse and Richard Doncombe. Whether taken by French and Moors on Barbary coaSt [The names of Tyngreye Flewrye, of St Mallowes, Richard Fishborne, Walter Glubbe, and James Lampen, are mentioned].

County/place: Devon.

Date of commission: 15 June 1608, French commission also dated 12 September 1608, delivered 13 October 1606.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 15 September 1608 at Plymouth, depositions also in Brittany (France).
