Description

Short title: Southcott v Skirdon.

Plaintiff(s): Thomas Southcott.

Defendant(s): John Skirdon.

Subject of depositions: Her Majesty's ancient customary mills in the manor of Bovytracy, called "Bovy Mills" (Devon). Touching custom of "suit and grist" to such mills due by the tenants of the manor. Alleged interference with custom by defendant erecting new mills. [Sir William Stroud, kt, HM [surveyor for Devon, and John Stouchley, deputy-bailiff of the manor, are mentioned].

County/place: Devon.

Date of commission: 12 February 1599.
