Description

Short title: Delavale v Preston.

Plaintiff(s): Peter Delavale, John Highlord, Robert Walldo. A view, taken the 13th day of September 1598, by Ralph Delavale, gent. Her Majesty's farmer of certain lands in Cowpen, bailiff and collector of her revenues and rents, and viewer and director of all the works within Her Majesty's coal mines in Tynemouth Shier, etc.

Defendant(s): John Preston, Richard Preston, Cuthbert Watson.

Subject of depositions: Manor, town, of Cowpen, in the manor of Tynemouth (Northumberland). Alleged illegal intrusion upon coal mines in Cowpen, by defendants, under and by virtue of "pretended" lease. Customs of manor. Survey. [Lewis Witherington is mentioned].

County/place: Northumberland.

Date of commission: 12 February 1599.
