Description

Short title: Carent v Pitman.

Plaintiff(s): Leonard Carent and his wife Thomasine.

Defendant(s): John Pitman.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to lands in Whitchurch, in the parish of Hengstridge (Somerset), lately belonging to John Poncherton (deceased, and late husband of plaintiff). [The names of Margaret Wilkins, of Stalbridge, Robert Stibbs, William Fooke, of Sherborne, Michael Bryne, Robert Hide, Margaret Brittridge, "heir" of Robert Brittridge, Robert Poncherton (grandfather of defendant), Johan Pitman (defendant's mother), Agnes Dacomb (second wife of said Robt), and Thomas St Barbe, are mentioned].

County/place: Somerset.

Date of commission: 12 February 1597.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 21 March 1597 at Henixstridge.
