Description

Short title: Bovie v Chaff.

Plaintiff(s): Amye Bovie, widow.

Defendant(s): Gregory Chaff.

Subject of depositions: Manor of Buckfastleigh (Devon) touching lands therein called "Grendon ", "Puttislands ", "Berainlands ", "Washill ", "Golmes Downe" and "Walworthy" belonging to plaintiff, and formerly to Gregory Bovie and William Bovie.[Touching a former suit brought by Nicholas Chaff and others, against Thomas and John Bovie for trespass on the land called "Golmesdowne" etc. The names of Cicely Chaff and John Chaff are mentioned].

County/place: Devon.

Date of commission: 12 February 1596.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 20 April 1596 at Ayshberton.
