Description

Short title: Wild v Wigley.

Plaintiff(s): Jarvis Wild and his wife Margaret, late widow of Anthony Burgess, deceased, Her Majesty's farmers.

Defendant(s): John Wigley and Anne his wife.

Subject of depositions: Her Majesty's lands in Adbowlton, Gainston, Bridgford, Ratcliffe, and Oxen, leased by the Crown to Robert William and Henry Hall, and conveyed by them to Anthony Burgess. Alleged detention of part of the lands so conveyed in the lease by William Hall, and continued detention of the lands by the defendant Wigley, who married the widow of William.

County/place: Nottinghamshire.

Date of commission: 9 July 1595.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 23 September 1595 at Mansfield, Sherwood.
