Description

Short title: Vaughan v Dawson.

Plaintiff(s): Richard Vaughan, Christopher Metcalf, John Thorpe.

Defendant(s): William Dawson.

Subject of depositions: Possessions of the late monastery of Old Byland (Yorkshire); whether Edward Wolland, who is tenant of the demesne lands of the monastery (plaintiffs being his farmers thereof), pays yearly to the Crown for the demesnes and for all other Crown lands there £6l 8s 3d as a tenth, and £10 1s 2d for a rent reserved on a lease; whether the lands are discharged of all tithes.

County/place: Yorkshire.

Date of commission: 17 November 1591.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 17 January 1591 at Old Byland.
