Description

Short title: Bratherick v Maxwell.

Plaintiff(s): William Bratherick alias Broderick, and Jane Seggiswicke alias Sedgwith.

Defendant(s): Edward Maxwell and Jane his wife, late wife of Matthew Siggeswick.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to the lands of Matthew Siggeswick, deceased, lately attainted of murder; whether parcel of Hudswell Manor, and concealed from or escheated to the Crown; whether the lands belonged to the abbey of St Agatha, near Richmond, and since to Sir Christopher Wandesford as lord of the manor of Hudswell. Touching the lordship of Richmond. Customs of manors of Hudswell, Richmond, and Middleham. [The names and possessions of Christopher Nevill, late of high treason attainted, late husband to Anne Nevell, mother to Sir Christopher Wandesford, Lord Scroope, sometime farmer of Hudswell Manor, Robert Cooper, and John Cagill, are mentioned].
