Two sheets of maps and plans showing the sites of martello towers: (1) on the Essex coast at Saint Osyth marshes and Walton-on-the-Naze; (2) on the Suffolk coast at Felixstowe, Bawdsey and Aldeburgh. Scale: 1 inch to 1 mile [1:63,360] and 6 inches to 1 mile [1:10,560] (main maps); 1:2,500 (plans showing individual towers). Compass indicators. Reproduced from portions of Ordnance Survey maps; zincographed at the Ordnance Survey Office, Southampton: (1)1884; (2) 1889, revised 1890. Printed inscriptions state that the maps are to be used solely for War Department purposes. MS notes to item (2) dated 1895.
