Sudan: Wadi Halfa. 'Wady Halfa (Upper Egypt) Defences': one sheet of plans and sections of fortifications, showing a blockhouse on the west bank of the River Nile, and five redoubts. Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet [1:240] (plans); 1 inch to 10 feet [1:120] (sections). Compass indicator. Based on sketches supplied by the Commanding Royal Engineer, Frontier Field Force; drawn by Company Sergeant Major J McPherson, Royal Engineers, 17 August 1886; signed by Major W H Mulloy Royal Engineers; corrected to 1 March 1889. Inscribed: 'Office Copy'. Originally produced to accompany report to the Quartermaster General, 1 October 1886; the report is not filed with this sheet
