Order from Hoppo to hong merchants, quoting the Select Committee's petition of 9m 13d, rejecting their arguments, stating that the Throne has been memorialised, and calling on the foreigners to repent lest a trade in tea and silk, without which their countries cannot do, should be stopped. China can dispense with their woollens, clocks and watches. (Dated: 9m 24d).
