Paymaster's Ledger.
- Contains details of the pay, usually on a four-weekly basis, of officers and men of the Corps for the period Sep 1855-Aug 1856. This ledger contains details of men numbered from 1300 to 1570 and 1587 to 1800, omitting 1332, 1344, 1349, 1398, 1434, 1600 and 1649.
- Contains a single page per man, with his number, his job title and sometimes his fate. Most entries end with the payment of a gratuity. There are no details of gang number.
- An integral alphabetical index by initial letter of surname is at the front. It includes the man's number and the reference folio.
