The Strategy and Communication Unit was a combined team created to provide a centralised strategy team to develop the Department's long-term thinking by setting priorities and embedding strategic business planning. The key drivers of productivity were: Innovation, Enterprise, Competition, Skills and Investment. The strategic component of the unit was aligned to these key drivers. The communications component delivered messages about policy decisions they developed and were addressed either internally for Deparment staff or to external stakeholders.
