No 9.
Captured ship: Bachelor of Hull [otherwise Batselaar] (master William Idle, prize master Adrian van Dort of Flushing).
Capture history: an English ship, bound from New York (then occupied by the Dutch under Cornelis Evertson) to Cadiz, where it was retaken in March 1674 by Idle with its Dutch cargo of sugar and tobacco, but with no water or provisions. See HCA 32/1945/19 for the capture.
No 9i: allegation that Idle had bartered with HMS Falcon on 25 March 1674, exchanging tobacco for Royal Navy provisions and equipment, 2 March 1674/1675;
No 9ii: allegation that on 24 March 1673/1674, when the ship was taken in Cadiz Bay, she was not under the command of any Spanish guns, but under Evertsen. The Spanish Governor had previously notified Harman that Spain could not protect a Dutch prize he had taken that was lying near the Bachelor, 12 May 1674.
