Prisoner Name: Daniel Cameron, aged 28 years.
Court and Date of Trial: Bermuda Court Martial, October 1849.
Crime: Mutinous conduct.
Initial Sentence: Life imprisonment.
Outcome: Nil.
Petitions and letters: Cover letter to Waddington, stating that a great number of Mr Maule MP’s constituents have signed the enclosed petition. Petition from Alexander Cameron, the prisoner’s father, asking that enquiries be made into the events leading to the Court Martial, and for the severe sentence to be mitigated. Also signed by 56 inhabitants of Perth.
