Description

Prisoner name: Ann Lennon.

Court and Date of Trial: Lancaster quarter sessions, Salford, October 1848.

Crime: Felony.

Initial sentence: One year's imprisonment.

Outcome: Discharge. Free pardon 18 July 1849.

Petitions and letters: Petition from visiting Magistrates at Lancaster Castle requesting the prisoner's release on grounds that she has a uterine disorder and further imprisonment could endanger her life, surgeon's certificate attached. Also a letter from Lancaster Castle confirming her release.
