Description

Folios 336-337: James Keith Shepard, Regulating Officer, Gravesend. Reply to letter dated 29 October 1812 in the cases of William Smart and Lewis Brown on HMS Corso. They were impressed on the 27 October 1812 by Lieutenant Jordan off Gravesend from the Packet Princess Amelia where they had been received under a Truce flag as mentioned in the letter from Mr Freeling? Mr John Linmon the Master of the Hibernia, represented their conduct as being highly culpable.

Folios 338-339: enclosure with folios 336-337. Letter from the General Post Office dated 28 October 1812. Stating that William Smart and Lewis Brown belonging to the Princess Amelia, late Packet which was captured by an American Privateer on the 15 September 1812, were some days after sent on board the Hibernia, West Indiaman by a flag of Truce, together with the greater part of the Amelia's crew. Request their release.

Folio 340: enclosure with folios 336-337. Letter from Mr John Linmon, Commander of the Ship Hibernia declaration the they gave up two men, late belonging to the HM Packet Princess Amelia, behaved in a mutinous manner on board the Hibernia on the passage from The Downs to London.
