Details of accident: Two empty wagons, which were attached to the York and Duffield Goods train, were moved a short distance for the convenience of two Labourers, who were about to load them with bricks. When they had been taken the required distance the Guard gave the Driver a signal to stop, and immediately thereafter, G. Wilson stepped between the buffers to uncouple and on the Driver slackening speed the buffers came together crushing him between them.
