Folios 35-36: William Shields, the Sea Fencibles, Harwich. Acknowledges the letter concerning the arming of vessels for coastal defence, responds that he has not been able to arm a single vessel because although he has 25 guns, the ammunition and stores have not arrived. He has fitted 45 vessels with slides for the guns, will report when he has been able to finish arming them.
